I have to travel to S.I. frequently and occasionally my GPS loses its signal! Having no sense of direction, I always rely on a good map in the car to help me find my way when this happens, or when I want to look for alternative routes. I have many other Hagstrom maps and they are always helpful.
Looks great except printed on poor quality paper that is a bit grainy and thin. Some prints show through from the other side of the page. Other than that everything is good.
I thought that when I purchased this map for the exorbitant cost of over $70.00 - it would be at least what I was looking for. It was described as laminated - which I assumed was the whole map, not just the cover, as we own one in which EACH page was laminated. In addition the front cover was soiled, and certainly not presentable as a gift. I am asking for a full refund, which I assume will be forthcoming once I receive directions on how to send it back, as there was not even a receipt in the envelope. If I do not, another review will be forthcoming. It was supposed to have been a Holiday gift - and after waiting close to a month for it to begin with, I was wondering if I would EVER get it - and when I did, I wish I didnt. If I could have given it less than one star, I certainly would have.
Getting the atlas for NYC has proven to be a great buy. It's helped me out at my job so much that I don't know why I never picked one up before. Great to have would recommend anyone to have it even the experience drivers like myself.
This was a replacement for a commercial driver that works for me. he had an old copy that was about 20 years past its prime.
The title and description is incorrect. It is a detailed map of the 5 boro's, not 4. What I found to be misleading is the description that states the atlas is spiral/laminated. The only thing that is laminated is the front and rear cover. Hagstrom does make a map that each page is laminated - I was under the impression that I was getting this one. I too am very disappointed!
I ORIGINALLY ORDERED 5 OF THE SPIRAL/LAMINATED MAPS. I RECIEVED 5 SPIRAL MAPS BUT THEY WERE NOT LAMINATED. VERY UPSET !!!
