I highly do not recommend this review book. I'm in Ap Hug right now and looking through this book I found a lot of basic mistakes (ex. The definition of agricultural density is wrong). I recommend buying the REA or Kaplan books instead since with this book you will likely be studying the wrong facts.

The following written by my 15 year old freshman son: This textbook was an excellent buy. It includes all major aspects and units of human geography. It is a really good refresher, includes practice exams, writings, and questions. Everything was explained with in depth, and the practice was almost like the test. The book was easy to read and was involved in every step of solving a question, and went over everything in great depth. I bought the book about a month and a half before the test and used it as a review/refresher. You must commit.All in all 5/5.

It helped prepare for the exam, but I preferred the Barron’s book version to be honest because that one was more concise. Princeton Review had a lot of excellent examples but also many unnecessary ones. I ended up using Barron’s about 70% of the time and this one about 30%. If you need to cram last minute, get Barron’s not this. If you’re looking for a book to help throughout the school year with good in-depth explanations, diagrams, and current examples, buy Princeton Review’s book. I’m confident I’ll score a 5 when scores come out in a few weeks, but we’ll see.

 I bought the 2018 version for my sister and last year I got the 2017 I have yet to find any differences as in the content. I’m pretty sure they are exactly the same minus the different cover. This is a very good review book. Using this I was able to get a 5 on my first AP exam, being this book.

I absolutely loved this book! It was clear and concise. I used this book to study a week or so before the exam and I got a 5! You must have a lot of dedication and patience however. It was fairly long but contained all the materials that are necessary for your success on the test. Plus, I recognized that some of the questions in the book appeared on the test in a different wording. Great book. You should definitely get this if you are taking the AP Human Geography course!

I was initially very excited to get this book for my home schooled 1st grade daughter. She has low motivation to read (she much prefers math and science), but enjoys drawing and coloring.When I opened the package, I was surprised to see that this book is tiny! It's the size of a small paperback book. I somehow missed in the description that this is a MINI book, my fault for not paying attention when ordering it. My daughter struggles with fine motor skills, and working out of this small book is impossible for her. She can't hold the book open and draw and color at the same time. I decided to lay the book down flat and photocopy it two pages at a time and then put the photocopies in a binder for her to lay flat and work on. This works perfectly! (Though now I bought the book AND have to use paper and ink up in order to use it....).The actual work in this book is perfect for my daughter. In the very first poem, she could read several of the sight words, which made her thrilled! She felt very confident in an area she usually struggles. She loves coloring in the words, and adding to the pictures. I have finally found a learning to read material she doesn't get frustrated with! This makes my homeschooling mom heart very happy!I just wish the book were bigger and spiral bound for small hands that might struggle with fine motor skills.You can see in my attached photo how easy it is for my daughter to use the book once it is photocopied to a reasonable size and able to lay flat.

How many favorites can I have?!! My 3 year old daughter was SO jealous of her two older sisters with this book, that I had to purchased one for her as well! This book is TOO precious! It isn't just about coloring animals! My girls really enjoy getting to look up the animals, learn about their habitat and what they eat. It's PERFECT because it's pocket size, and it fits perfect down in a purse, church bag or even, a "bag of books" as my girls have now created!! I have bought this book as a gift for over 7 people now! PLEASE, get this book! Stick it in their stocking! You'll thanks me later!

Small book...next time I will read the dimensions before buying from Thinking Tree. Also, it is bait, not bate in the fish story. Finally...font way to small and spaces way to small for my kid to write in them...please consider that if a kid is hesitant in reading, dyslexic, writing may also be an issue. Kiddo loved the rhymes though.

Our seven year old is working through this book. At first I didn't think he was retaining spelling information. He loves to memorize the little poems. He enjoys drawing the food and habitat around each animal. I personally appreciate him having to flip back to find a word, then remember the spelling to be able to fill in the blanks on the next page.I have been orally testing his retention and he is spelling better than he had been up until using this book. It's amazing how much they remember when they are actually looking at spelling as fun instead of a chore.

I ordered this for my 8 year old daughter who has struggled with reading. She's not been diagnosed as dyslexic but she shows signs of it. She loves this book! She immediately started reading it, coloringin it, and writing in it. She even uses several of the new animal names she is learning from it in our Mad Libs we do every night at bedtime. And the book is just the right size and weight that she can take it back and forth to school and it doesn't weigh down her backpack.

FIRST TIME MY DAUGHTER HAS VOLUNTARILY PRACTICED READING ON HER OWN!This book really impressed me. I love the repetition for learning spelling words in creative ways. It has over 20 different animals! :D It has practice spelling sheets at the back and I feel like after all the repetition they'll really have the words by that point. The book is very small. Some of the words are difficult to read due to printing quality. My son has to use a magnifying glass to see the word list. I love the idea and concept but I think that the layout could be a lot better.

I am very drawn to a Charlotte Mason and unschooling approach and in my research I found these fun schooling books. They have been perfect for us and changed our homeschooling for the better. This little book is perfect for little hands and does not take but a few minutes to do a page or two each day. Repetition is key in this approach and this book does a good job of that.

It was entertaining. But. And there’s a big but. There’s no point to this book. James Patterson has a wonderful turn of phrase, he’s a very good author, but he did not come up with anything new for this book. It wasn’t even surprising. By a quarter of the way through the book, you know “whodunit” and it’s exactly what you expect.The book, honestly, is about Howard Carter, the man who discovered the tomb and not really about King Tut himself. And even in that, you don’t learn anything. You don’t get to know the man, really, but a cardboard cutout of him, kinda. I get the feeling there’s a lot more to him that this book doesn’t touch on.And what King Tut book doesn’t even mention the “curse” once? Debunk it or believe it, you have to TALK about it! It was huge. Egypt-mania in the 1920s was huge. But this book doesn’t mention that at all. It might say it was big but the VAST majority of the book is about what a failure Carter was, not what a success he was. That’s almost a footnote.There’s nothing in this book that “reopens the ultimate cold case” at all. There’s no case. There’s not even a mystery. This book doesn’t even PRETEND there’s a mystery. It’s so disappointing.The writing is very good, but that's all I can say positive about it. I honestly wouldn’t bother unless you need something to fill a boring Sunday night (like I did).

This was a fun book. But a year after publication it was found that King Tut was NOT assassinated as previously thought. It is now known that his parents were brother and sister. Because of this Tut had many health problems, too many to mention here, and they contributed to his early death. Look him up and you'll see all the health problems he had! A good work of FICTION here, but that is all and hopefully the publisher will regulate it to that area.

Very little fact-based information presented. If you're looking for drama and fiction, this is the book for you. If you prefer a story entwined around actual facts and medical findings, like I was hoping for, then don't waste your money. I hesitate to say the author did much research regarding what has actually been found on Tut's body and within his tomb. He makes no mention of the club foot (hard for a child king to be a warrior and head into battle with one of these). Likewise, hieroglyphics portrayed him doing archery from a seated position, which is not the standard. There were also numerous walking sticks found within Tut's tomb which provide evidence of his crippling clubfoot. Medical experts also found evidence of a crushed sternum and broken ribs. Take those into account with a broken femur and a cranial subdural hematoma, these findings likely point to trauma of some sort. Additionally, further analyses on his remains indicate he suffered from malaria as well. There's no evidence anywhere suggesting he was murdered. The author has based his theory, and subsequently his entire book, on a minor piece of evidence such as a subdural hematoma on his skull. There's obviously a bigger picture.There's also no evidence that his and his sister's love was a love to survive all time. They made 2 stillborn babies. That's it. Let's not romanticize it.I'm halfway through the book and I don't think I can finish it. I guess when I saw "nonfiction" on the cover, I expected more of a story based on facts and actual hard evidence. I just find it hard to disregard evidence presented by medical experts, trained in medicine, for a flimsy theory thrown out by an author, untrained in medicine.This book makes interesting fiction. The author uses his words well to paint a picture. If they removed the word "nonfiction" from the cover, I'd rate the book higher.

At first, I was interested to see Patterson insert himself into his own book [although I don't believe I'd care to hang out with someone with such a bloated sense of himself] and was excited by his claims of extensive research, but soon became quite disappointed when it became clear that Mr. Patterson glossed over the 2 main stories, that of King Tut and that of Carter. He'd throw out a tantalizing tidbit of information but wasn't able to elaborate. Or perhaps more accurately, wasn't willing to elaborate. Throughout the book, I felt like Mr. Patterson was writing for a rather dull child who he believed incapable of grasping big words or complicated sentence structure.Ultimately too I was shocked at his conclusion of the purported murder. While I think he could have been right regarding his suspicions on two counts, he did not paint a clear enough picture to jump to the final conclusion regarding Tut's sister. Nor do I agree that he should be billing this as a work of non-fiction. Mr. Patterson didn't present enough "evidence" to support a good fiction thriller, much less solve one of the most intriquing mysteries of all time.

Absolutely loved this book from start to finish. It brought together two of my favorite hobbies, archeology and suspend/mystery books all into one. It was a long read, but I could of handled another 300 pages.

Fascinating and riveting account, placed in three epochs, ancient, recent past and present. An intriguing angle on Tut's life, his discovery, and fascinating theory of the mystery of his death.

This book carries on two time lines - one for King Tut around 1380 BC, and one for Howard Carter around 1915 AD and following. The author puts a couple of current day chapters in there too, giving his thoughts on writing the book. It kept my interest. I'm not into Egyptology, but learning about all the intrigues and political power plays around the Pharoah was interesting. And seeing how Carter made such a monumental discovery and ultimately never benefited from it made for a good story.

I had read this book some time ago and wanted to reread it, but could not find my old copy so I was willing to buy it again! I like anything by James Patterson and loved reading it one more time. It is a bit of a different "take" on the story of King Tut and I highly recommend it!
