I thought the book was quite insightful! I will definitely utilize the advice from this book. I always felt the hardest thing about applying to new jobs was figuring out how to best showcase my resume to a potential employer and how to specify my resume for the job. This book breaks down the process of matching your resume and qualifications to a job in a way that easily understandable. As a current user of the "blast method" with no satisfying results. I will use the "from resume to work" to yield better results. I have faith the methods explained in this book will work to help me land my next job.

From Resume to Work is well laid out, and easy to follow. It provides step by step instructions for getting your resume seen, which is half the battle. Now, your resume is to be taken very seriously because if you mess up your resume in some way and you don’t realize it, you won’t get a job. Hence, it’s very important to get it right. This book helps you do just that. The little things make a huge difference. These instructions work on the simple rules of psychology. Nobody tells you to do these things because they aren’t required in a resume. They aren’t mandatory. People forget about the fact that the person reading your resume would be human, like you, and their sub–conscious mind would be in control, looking for these tiny things. This booked has helped me in so many ways. I created a brand new resume following the guidelines given in this book and applied to quite a few jobs, out of which I got 6 interviews. It’s a very thoughtful book and a lot of study and research has gone into it. It’s very, very helpful and I would recommend it to anybody that’s having a hard time finding a job. The author has done a great job presenting the information.

Great suggestions for beginners and expert job seekers. Even though at times they seem like "it's too much work." The resources list is very useful.

I downloaded this to my Kindle at the end of my first month of looking for a new job with low expectations. Other older books (pre-2010) we're hopelessly outdated; this short work is much more in tune with the reality of looking for work in late 2014.
