I recently passed the PCCN certification (November 2017) using this book as one of my study tools ( I only used 2- this book and the PCCN Exam Secrets Study Guide). It has very good questions and rationales for the answers. The questions in this book are pretty similar to the actual questions in the exam. There are 3 test exams with 125 questions each, plus a bonus exam at the end with 10 questions. I highly recommend this book if you are planning to take the PCCN certification exam.

If you’re looking for an awesome study tool for the PCCN exam, then look no further! The questions with rationales were so helpful, and the way the questions are worded are very similar to the test! Worth every penny!

After failing to be able to get through the dense study reviews, I decided a few weeks before PCCN to simply start studying via questions and a course my hospital offered. 4 hours of cardiology review were extremely helpful in helping me learn to read 12 lead EKGs well enough to determine the origin of an MI and which coronary arteries supplied what/what their locations were so that I could tell what artery would be occluded in which types of heart attacks. You DEFINITELY need to know that for PCCN.This question book was what I started out with and I was delightfully spoiled. No other question bank held a candle to it. IMO, PCCN is an easier exam than NCLEX but it's harder to study for because the available study materials are just garbage. There is very little that's tried and true, but this question guide is one of them.For some data points, I made an 81% on the exam -- a passing grade is 68%. I never managed to even so much as pass one of these Kupchik question banks! My scores were between 65-69% on them. They're rigorous enough to prepare you for the exam and then some. Highly recommend this question book.

Just passed my PCCN certification exam! Questions in this book are representative of the questions on the PCCN exam. If anything the questions in the book are more challenging - a great way to study! Explanations are thorough and easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone planning to take the exam.

I recently PASSED the PCCN exam and I only used this book along with "ACE the PCCN! Study Guide" under the same author. The test questions covered the salient parts of the PCCN test outline. I only allotted 6 days for my test preparation, and this book greatly facilitated my review. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!

I really like this book. With my busy schedule it's convenient to carry in my purse and do a few questions here and there when I have time.

This book is absolutely impossible to read. Turro just repeats the same points over and over and over. All the information in Chapters one and two are repeated again and again and AGAIN for the rest of the book in an apparent attempt to make a document that can be turned into a hardcover book and sold for nearly $100. This book is literally the most useless book I have ever purchased. I also purchased the longer version of this book by Turro and had the same experience!My instructor forced his students to buy this book. He was a Turro student and admitted to being a reviewer of this book, so it was obvious that he had some financial stake in us purchasing the book and wanted to increase his own prestige by trying to increase the popularity of Turro. Ultimately the course wasn't useful and the book even less so.Now if I was going to write this review in Turro style I would repeat what I just said seven more times to make this comment long, boring, and undigestable. Look to other sources to try to learn Photochemistry and skip this atrocity.

Simply the best in photochemistry and photophysics textbooks, like its precedent "Modern molecular photochemistry".Dr. Turro is a great teacher as well as a great scientist. I listened to his speech a few years ago and he can really explain abstract ideas in an easy way for you. Generations have benefited from his previous book. This new one has exactly that quality and tradition to remain the best in the business. It rearranges the chapters and adds some of the effect of spin and electron transfer on photochemistry.I recommend also his organic photochemistry lecture videos to the readers.

Useful book, has a few typos and errors. To be expected. Good Price with nice information. Diagrams are helpful and theory is well explained.

This is an excellent book of a team of prominent scientists. The book considers both basics of the science and recent achivements in modern photochemistry. I strobgly recommend it to the readers.

A good introduction.

Turro's latest version of the photochemistry book is an outgrowth of his lifelong passion for assimilating, subliming and distilling his thoughts spanning tens of thousands of hours on this topic . The hall mark of Turro's writing style - clarity of thought, inimitable presentation style, addressing the reader directly, student friendly exposition of photochemical events, obvious but hidden allusions and suggestions for further thought, and penchant for integrating the latest in his science - is clearly manifested in this latest book.I am not amazed at this extraordinary feat emanating from a pioneering expert who chose to coauthor this book with two other excellent photochemists, probably to penetrate and perpetuate the impact of his pedagogic acumen to posterity. I have been a close follower of his photochemistry classics starting from his prototype like precursor to the present endeavor. Let me proudly recall my tryst with Turro's writings with my discovery of his first book on photochemistry (Molecular Photochemistry, Benjamin, New York, 1965) in the summer of 1976 at the sumptuous library of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai (where I spent most of my non-experimental hours in that institution during my best youthful days), when I had to initiate my Ph.D. program in the organic photochemistry of laser dyes. Scanning the high energy chemistry shelf at that library, I chose Turro's book with an instant spark of spontaneity, which I never regretted in terms of the gains it entailed in expanding the horizon with minimum effort and maximum efficiency, although some of my then colleagues did not agree with my opinion, which I ever expressed freely being an ardent believer of democratic principles. Eversince, I have been following his later improvements on this topic including the 1978 book [Modern Molecular Photochemistry, University Science Press].The evolutionary transformations of this topic have been clearly reflected in this book, which is not merely a revision of his old books, but is marked by a novel and superior reorganization skill and definite improvement of the topics. The present book, subtitled as an introduction, encompasses the ground realities of photochemical principles that envelop the photochemical and photophysical processes. These principles are adorned with an extraordinary treatment of quantum mechanical basis. Modern chemical approach of quantum mechanics commences with the enunciation of axiomatic designations and generalizations of quantum mechanical concepts instead of initiating the topics with tortuous mathematical paths. This book dwells upon another level of simplification of quantum mechanical thoughts, which will be acceptable both to chemistry majors who have finished physical chemistry primers covering quantum mechanics, and bioscience majors who may want to master the photobiological scenario. The wave functions are divided into orbital, nuclear, and spin components, and they are explained confining all the underlying principles necessary in the context of the book without defying comprehension.The principles are annotated with simple pictures and models that serve to illustrate the related concepts, which impart pedagogical ease. Such a trend pervades the whole book extending up to the final chapters that elaborate on the photochemical principles of organic reactions, and concepts on energy transfers.The book is accentuated with electron and nuclear spin concepts, in a scale proportionate to the extreme emerging importance of spintronics in modern material science and nanotechnology, which physicists and mathematicians may consider as an aid to appreciate the physical significance and extra-dimensions of their own work.Linguistically, the book bears the repeated stamp of special terms such as paradigms and exemplars, which carry more weight and meaning in the context of the treatment of the book. There are, I believe, deliberate evasion of usual acronym for Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital by choosing the short form HO from ethical considerations to circumvent the unavoidable connotations linked to the use of the more familiar short form. In general, the language is perennially clear and clever to dismiss ambiguities.This book has a unique position in the firmament of photochemical teaching, and as a reference work for experts and researchers. I have gone through, at various stages of my career, at least seven introductory books on photochemistry, of which Turro's book stands out owing to its positive attributes as a clear representation of photochemistry, as a supplementary source of information for chemists in general, as a structurally significant intellectual product, and as complementary resources for high energy radiation chemistry workers.Inevitably, a book with a high concentration on basic principles should be followed by a sequel elaborating on the application aspects, which, in the context of photochemistry, I guess, should be an admixture of organic reactions, molecular recognition, nanochemistry , photobiology inclusive of chemical biological aspects of inorganic chemistry, and, of course, frontiers of material science. I believe that it's the best investment I ever made during my 10 years as an entrepreneur! I sold my small business in January 2016 and this book was instrumental not only in my preparation to sell the business but in the actual execution of the sale.About two years before the sale (November 2013), I wrote a strategic plan for my business and it was at that point that I decided I wanted to sell the business in time to have it sold by my 62nd birthday and before the lease I had expired and needed to be renewed. I developed a timeline to give myself a year for the sale process (starting in June 2015) and included a 6 month transition period with the future owner. In this plan, I also included a list of opportunities for growth that I wasn't going to implement but thought that the future owner should have.I bought this book right away and read it during the holidays that year to get an idea of the steps I needed to take. Over the course of the next year and a half, I slowly began to set things up for the sale, according to the author's suggestions. I began documenting the processes of the business (since everything was in my head and there was very little on paper), but it was not yet organized in an operations manual. Since I was so involved in the day to day of running my business, the ideas from the book were in the back of my mind, but not something I focused on everyday. I was very slowly doing the important things to get ready.The two most important things I needed were to get an operations manual finalized and the last 5 years of financial data created in the form that showed the true profitability (without the owner perks). I was able to get one of my employees to create the manual before she graduated from college and left to begin her career (in May of 2015) and had asked my CPA to prepare the financial data. We met in May to look at the reports and it was in that conversation that he asked me if I were ready to sell because he had a client looking for a business like mine. I told him yes and he setup a conference call for his client and I to discuss the business.Here's where the book had the greatest impact. After that conversation, the CPA called me to tell me the client was very interested in coming to visit my business, but that I had a lot of work to do. I needed to prepare a document describing my business and get it back to him in a few days. Thank God for this book and the template for creating the Seller's Memorandum! In one weekend, I was able to create this document, including the pictures and all the points that needed to be made. What's amazing is that when I got to the part about including future opportunities, I remembered the strategic plan I had written (which I had not looked at since I wrote it) and went back to pull that information. I noticed that the timeline to begin the sales process was June 2015 and the date that I was creating the memorandum with the book's template was June 1, 2015!As it turns out, the client came to visit, he and his wife fell in love with my business, and they purchased it with cash (no financing at all) within 7 months. It wasn't the easiest process dealing with the landlord to transfer the lease and negotiate a renewal for the new owner, and at the end, we got it done. The buyer negotiated a 9 month transition with me, which has been successfully completed.I can't quantify how much this book helped me. I recommend it highly to anyone wanting to sell their business.

I wish I read the other reviews first: This is a good book but there are no CDs! She references the CDs quite a bit. I am willing to buy them because the book is good but how??

Hello!I have been reading the book and I previously complained on this site that the files from the CD ROM were not accessible to Kindle users. I was frustrated because the book content is SO GOOD, and I wanted to get started with my homework and work on the forms. Immediately, the writer wrote to me personally and sent me all the files. It was her husband birthday and she was away from her computer, but still she wrote to me by iphone to reassure me.It's the first time I purchase a book, and it comes with such a personal and nice after sales service. Im impressed with the book, and also with the author. The book is full of crucial information, it's very methodical, and guides you through all the steps, from the mind, to the paper. I have downloaded samples of others books to compare and see. I did not find it necessary to read them. Everything is covered in her book.

I got this prime digital, but they did not send me the CD rom that suppose to come with this book.The book references back on it and also important forms that you need or only on the CD.And if the case is because you buy digital that the forms should come at least in a attachment with digital book or by email.I feel short changed just because I went digital and didn't buy the actual paper back book.

My God, this woman can write!It's all here: scandal, honesty, brutal words, delicate words. Sentences that take your breath away. Definitely not a beach read, but a book with great depth.

For starters potato chip grease gets on the pages, which is a pet peeve of mine. But, more importantly you will not be able to stop reading chapter after chapter and your stomach can’t handle all those chips. This can definitely be a one sitting book read.If you are looking for a book to start your summer off right: this here is your jam!As a teenager, Evelyn Hugo knew she wanted bigger and better things than Hell’s Kitchen. Her mom dreamed of Hollywood, and after her death Evelyn would do everything in her power to make her mom’s dream her own. She married her first husband to get her to Hollywood and the next six to keep her there.You only knew what she set up to tell you; only a few knew the real Evelyn. At the age of 79 she is ready to tell all and hires an unknown journalist, Monique Grant, to do the telling. Why now? Why Monique? Taylor Jenkins Reid has this uncanny ability to suck you into the lives of her characters and never let you go. They feel so utterly genuine, I felt as if I was a part of their lives instead of an outsider reading about them. Reid also does an amazing job developing her characters, I was rooting for all of them to get what they want and to achieve their goals.I never really know what to expect when I dive into a book by Reid, but I can honestly say this book was full of surprises and twists I didn’t see coming. This book spans from the 1950’s to the present day, and we get to know all of the loves of Evelyn’s life. Evelyn herself was enchanting, I found myself fascinated by her life story, her choices and her perseverance. While love was a motivating factor, to me this was mostly a story about success and survival. Evelyn was always going to do what it takes to be a star and stay at the top, and she would fight for what she wanted.Hollywood and the film industry can be a ruthless place but it can also be one where greatness can be achieved for the lucky ones. I think Reid captured the industry and the time periods this story took place in perfectly.This is one of the best books I’ve read all year and I think if you go into it with an open mind and a kind heart, you’ll fall in love with this book like I did.“If you love someone enough, you should be able to overcome anything.”

Taylor Jenkins Reid knocked this one out of the ball park and into the parking lot as far as I'm concerned!! What an amazing, excellent story of an even more exciting, extraordinary, vibrant, woman!!Evelyn was 14 when she made her way to Hollywood she knew what she wanted and she went after it with all she was worth. She had Grit! She also had Seven Husbands, and one daughter, and one Great Love!!You have to admire a lot about what a woman or women of Evelyns generation went through because they're the ones who were the trail blazers for the stars of today. The women who work in that industry now I hope they thank those women from that Golden Era.The one thing going into this book that did surprise me about Evelyn was how it revolves around her sexuality. I didn't expect this but it was done tastefully I have to say. There was nothing vulgar about how it was written about it, Reid was very tasteful.I experienced the full gamut of emotions with this story from joy, tears, frustration, sadness, anger. But its a piece of art in my opinion. Thanks Taylor Jenkins Reid for sharing your talent and heart and soul. I highly recommend this book to adults 21+

I was so disappointed!The book I received was not the one pictured. In the description of the book it was mentioned that there was a dust jacket and that it was in good shape. The book I received was a glossy picture cover book. There was no dust jacket. The book pictured was put out in the 1950's and the book I received was put out in the 1990's.

Among the Nancy Drew classic series volumes 1-56, 8 of the text stories were significantly revised. The Clue in the Broken Locket was one of them. I have the newest version, but had read the older version when I was little and this brought back the great memories of that story. Wasn't Nancy Drew the greatest?

Bought for my granddaughter...hope she loves the series asi did

Happy to say my 13 year old grandaughter has discovered Nancy Drew. Just as I loved reading these books as a young girl, she really has gotten into them. They are wonderful for youhg teens.

Slowly completing my daughter's collection of Nancy Drew books I starting reading to her when she was a little girl. She's now 31. High quality books with "G-rating". We would read a few chapters at bedtime every night. I even got hooked on them!

Over the years, the Nancy Drew stories have been updated, sanitized and homoginized. This is the origial text, and with the original Clue of the Broken Locket, is one of my favorites. Yes, the attitudes about foreigners are a little condescending, but I think that over all, Nancy and her chums show a good deal of tolerance and open mindedness- especially for thier era.What I particularly like about this book is the exotic backdrop- a boy from India who cares for elephants. The seance scenes were new and interesting to me when I first read this at age 7. There's always a little history or geography thrown in, too. Girls who read Nancy Drew in the original are bound to learn to be creative problem solvers. Nancy is rarely at a loss. She's smart, determined and brave.

Not as advertised. These were a gift for my mom and I was greatly disappointed. Some books were new and others were old and marked up. If I would have known about inclusion of old, worn books, I would not have purchased them.

While I really like this series, I found this book to be somewhat lacking compared to the previous ones. The jumps between the many different perspectives of the characters felt more confusing and less interesting than in previous books. Many of the side plots are just outright boring and tedious. There's also some just weird things going on with the main character that just feel extra deus ex.With all that being said, though, the book is still fairly enjoyable and the ending was better than the beginning. If you liked the previous books in the series, you'll probably like this one, too :)

First, let me make clear that this 5-star rating is based purely on the fact that the next (translated) novel is already lined up to release in a few months, because this volume is pretty weak by itself.Which is not to say that there is anything wrong with the novel itself. If you've made it this far in the series, you are intimately familiar with the author's style, and how this story is being presented. This leads to the best and wrong thing about volume 5, which is that it serves as the volume where the two disparate stories finally come together. I will admit to being pleasantly surprised by the turn in characters, and how my own theory on who lovable Kumoko was being turned on its head was highly enjoyable.That being said, I must stress that you are likely better off waiting for the net volume to drop before picking up this one, as very little happens in terms of character development (even though the plot jumps forward, but I won't get into spoilers there) and some questions are left very much open with the cliff-hanger ending. Of course, this novel also answers some of the questions raised in volume 4, and finally gets to talking about the world itself, rather than just the characters we've seen so far.In short: Very enjoyable, but it requires the next installment to have a full sense of what is going on, and how that matters. Pick it up if you think you can stomache the wait.SPOLIERs**: Plus, spider girl finally becomes spider girl, so you have that to look forward to.

Without giving things away (and it's hard not to gush about this series), this book finally reveals who our favorite spider girl was in the class roster. The author does a great job in the prior books about keeping things cloudy, leaving you guessing, and/or leading you down paths to obvious (incorrect) conclusions, all while providing an entertaining and interesting story with a decent amount of action.Since I blew through the book in under 3 hours, I may have missed things, so I'm currently re-reading it (after taking a side trip through the latest book in a couple other series). The book seemed shorter on action, and downplayed things that could (would) have been fun side trips, instead it was focused on filling in details on a lot of things from previously, while not giving away so much that you don't want to keep reading.That said, once again I'll frustratedly be counting the days until the next installment is available...

Another great volume added to this story. I simply can't wait for vol 6. I just wish she would update the web novel. Having to wait so long for more of Shiro's antics simply drives me crazy.

Another good read. Finished in one sitting. Looking forward to the next volume. Don't wanna spoil anything so I'll leave it at that.

I have enjoyed reading as much about this series as I could. I've read all 5 english translated light novels now, and all of the English translated WN that are currently available. The main character is my absolute favorite of all Isekai that I've watched or read. Anyone that enjoys this type of story setting will enjoy this story.(On a side note: I'm a little disappointed how far off the WN this went, but expected as much anyway.) That being said, it was still a great read.

Definitely another very fun and enjoyable story, though my interest is mainly in the spider main story and not so much the side stories. Overall though, a great read and I’m looking forward to volume six in the future.
