I've been using the very same model of logbooks since my first flight back in 1990. They are well made and the perfect size for the flight bag. Not too big, not too small.

Good quality log book. Can't wait to fill it!! Small and compact- fits in my flight bag easily!

I just started flying lessons and this is just what I needed. I am so glad I was able to find this on Amazon and I didn't have to go to a pilot store to get. The price was great!

The logbook itself is good. It came, however, with a ugly white sticky label that says PILOTS HQ.COM across the front that ruins the look of the book. It's really difficult to get off.

Good deal. This one has more pages than my previous one and costs less. Bought this one for my wife to begin flight training. The red color will keep it from getting mixed up with my black log books.

I have been using these logbooks for about 30 years. Nothing special, but just what I have needed.

Practical, easy to use pilot log. This is my third dating back to 1981. Recommended.

Just could not put down the book until I finished it...I've built Big Data analysis systems for years, using Hadoop MapReduce on HBase, at the same time, we build Streaming System using Apache Storm(something following the Lambda Architecture pattern), and further extend to Trident to ensure exactly-once data processing. Later we moved to Spark so that we can use one implementation to do both batch and streaming... I'm so interested in streaming systems that I've also learned Flink and Akka Streaming in my own private time, and I feel I'm an expert for streaming systems or big data analysis systems, until I read this Book... I really know nothing...This Book lead you a way to jump out of the details, it shall build a framework in higher concept level in your mind, for you to understand and reasoning for streaming system, SQL system, and batch processing systems; and then you will find the essential same/difference between batch/Stream/table/SQL...etc, and understand those things which seem to locate in totally different dimensions, by only one simple mental framework; and then, you will find you can think in a higher level dimension space and attack your problem with a dimension reduction weapon, and it's really cool.It will change your mind on "what is big data processing".

I bought this book to stay at the cutting edge in my profession, and it has lived up to my expectations. The advice is sound, and the writing is clear. But what sets it apart from others I have considered are the many examples of proposals that have sold, as well as detailed critiques—pro and con—of every section of every proposal. You can read what authors wrote and then how the experts evaluated the finished product. I have highlighted so many sentences that the pages are almost all yellow. It is equally helpful to published writers who want to polish their proposals or wish to transition to a different kind of publishing house. For instance, generally speaking, the Marketing section of the proposal would have to be more developed if the book is intended for a big five publishing house than for a university press. This book offers guidelines about how to write a book proposal for a wide range of publishers: the big five, independent and small presses and academic publishers. It also gives helpful examples of ten successful proposals in the fields of business, self-help, psychology, spirituality and other areas, analyzing their strengths and considering where they could be improved. My favorite example was Brainblocks by Theo Tsaousides. In fact, I found that proposal so interesting that I bought the book!

Lots and lots of helpful information. A good reminder that publishing is a business and you need to do your homework. For example, you need to make sure your manuscript matches the mission statement of the publisher. Otherwise, you're just wasting everyone's time and money. The book offers solid examples of what a book proposal should do. But it's too dated to get five stars. This is the second edition. Maybe Herman and Herman need to do a third!

Just what I needed! I already knew a lot of this information by studying on my own, but to have examples of proposals at my finger tips I could refer to was exactly what I needed in helping me sharpen my writing skills in my proposals. I love to write but the proposals were something I could not get that smoothness and rhythm as my writing was developing in to. I did not know how to sale my writing, and this book truly did help me with that! Thank you Jeff Herman, and Deborah Levine Herman!

After a review of the desirability and requirements of a book proposal, the authors provide ten successful proposals and discuss them. The proposals are varied and the book will meet needs of most authors interested in the self-help and nonfiction.

If you're a writer or an aspiring one, get this book. It is detailed but not dense. It provides actual, actionable details that you can use. This book also serves up a healthy serving of "let's get serious here." Definitely in the top five of the entire category...actually, top three. Check it out from the library. You'll end up buying it anyway but give it a read.

This book does case illustrations very well in that they really explain some of the confusion that inherently arises in estate law. However, this book mostly focuses on those states that are not community property states and it leaves a little to be desired in this area. As for the Uniform Probate Code, this book does a good job at illustrating the principles.

This was a great casebook. I got the 9th Edition new since I was told the 10th didn't add much. I kinda wish I had gotten the 10th for casebook connect. But I really didnt need casebook connect. It was clear and understandable and even enjoyable to read. That's rare for a casebook.

Ok casebook

Wolters Kluwer should be embarrassed to charge $210 for a textbook, and Professor Sitkoff should be ashamed to have taken part in this new edition (and assigned it to his own section this Fall, despite the availability of a low-priced after market for the previous edition!)But students have no choice! The pages have been re-jiggered so it is impossible to correlate the previous edition of the text to their syllabus.Has the quality improved? New content? Nope! Just re-shuffle the pages so students must pay $210 new, rather than under $100 for a used, prior edition.If you are taking 4 courses this semester, at this rate you can expect to pay $850 for textbooks alone this semester. Disgusting!So why not charge $300 or $400 for a book? I'm sure this is coming down the road. The students have no choice but to pay it or drop the course.Pricing like this leads one to the strong suspicion that either the legal education publishing industry has been cartelized, or instructors have no empathy for their students.I could comment on the book's positive qualities, but the insane price tag really is impossible to look beyond. For shame!

Great Condition!

Decent casebook. It is nice to actually see the documents that are in dispute in the various cases. The only complaint is that the authors use the color red for accents and its not visually appealing.

I thought this was a great textbook. Unlike many law school textbooks, this book really hit the nuts and bolts of the subject in a reader-friendly way. There were (gasp) pictures, plenty of headings, and nice sections at the beginning and end of sections that made the book easy to navigate.

Again, required course, however, this is actually a good book. There are lots of modern cases and some high-profile that have been inserted either in full or in part in the book. I love the course and the book helps me pull everything together. Didn't get five stars because it is a TEXTBOOK. :)

I enjoyed reading through this book. It took me about 45 minures to read through three different scenarios. I look forward to having my homeschoolers read this and write book reports. They all should have different experiences and I only have to store one book.

The stories are very basic and short. It would have been nice if we could have a stronger attachment to the characters and outcomes. Ended up reading all of the endings within an hour. Wish there was some level of character development

These books are very interesting and fun. My teens have enjoyed reading this series.

My son loves the "You Choose Books", we had to read this book over 4 times because he wanted to pick every adventure. It can be hard to get my son to complete his reading assignments, I feel so happy that he enjoys these books.

Read to my 6 year old. Loves it and I have him hooked on choose-your-own adventure books now. Will get some of the other historical scenarios in the future. Doesn't hurt that I grew up playing Oregon Trail on DOS in middle school.

My son loves history, and likes the interactive type of books whether historical or not. He helped me choose this as a gift for my nephew. This was one of his favorites.

Wanted our grandchildren to remember "all things Oregon" as they move to Mississippi. This was a rare and well well-presented book on one of Oregon's treasures. They loved the many endings.

Just enjoyed a trip with my wife along the western portion of the trail. Came home and selected this book to get a flavor of the actual journey. Couldn't put it down. Exciting read .

The Only Grant-Writing Book You’ll Ever Need was a required text for the grant writing course at City Vision University. Truthfully, for informative purposes and an almost insider’s look at grant writing, this text is the only book anyone would ever need. Not only is the text updated to reflect trends in the area, but it is also written to give the reader a realistic look at the world of grant writing. The text begins with the basics: what is a grant and grant writing, who can apply for grants in different sectors (nonprofits vs. individuals), types of grantmakers (foundations and government grants), and the reality of expectations one should have in writing a grant proposal versus winning a grant. With this type of beginning, the reader is automatically prepared to understand “what they don’t tell you” about grant writing. While others may have been annoyed by the level of repetitiveness of some phrases such as following the grantmaker’s guidelines, I thought there was a purpose in the repetition. They were screaming for the reader to pay attention to this detail. Due to the level of “intangibles” (the things grantmakers don’t tell grant writers), I believe it is necessary to make sure to drive those points home. The text is thick, again due to the level of intangibles and insider’s reports from grantmakers, so even if a reader highlights points it is still very useful for the authors to take time to repeat most important points. That way, it is stuck in the reader’s head. There is a method to the madness. Overall, the text is an easy read. If someone is interested in grant writing, whether a fledgling writing or seasoned, I would definitely recommend this text. It is affordable and gets straight to the point. I would also recommend using this text in conjunction with Tori O’Neal-McElrath’s Winning Grants Step by Step workbook for developing grant proposals.

Another reviewer said the content of this book can be found elsewhere on the web, and that nothing new is presented here. I disagree. I found plenty of new and helpful info here, and all in one place instead of needing to Google endlessly. My co-workers liked this book, and I loaned it out to many different people.The tone is conversational and funny. The quizzes at the end of the chapters made me laugh out loud a few times. Very easy to read and absorb. Very easy to find answers to surviving questions you may have. Excellent examples. I highly recommend it.

This is a great book. If you want to learn how to write grants get this book. I have now learned a lot and have received many grants because of what I learned from this book. I took a workshop on grant writing and I learned more from this book than I did in that class.

This PACKED update of the leading classic on grant writing is a huge value for the price, especially compared to similar books costing $180 or more that deliver 10% of this quality. Unlike many that set you up with a major title ("the ONLY") then let you down, the authors have delivered sage advice for years with this book, at a price those on a nonprofit budget can afford. This update covers many of the new realities in the Alice in Wonderland world of worse economics but better grants if you know how to work the system.I've gotten numerous research grants for hundreds of millions of dollars for organizations like preptorial dot org, as well as dissertation and science nonprofits, researchers and authors. CRC offers a similar title as this one for almost 10 times the cost, which isn't nearly as practical or complete, and missing this text's fine new feature of actual q and a with grant givers.That said, I'm hoping you know that the old saying "It's not what you know, it's who you know" applies in spades to grants. The best grants are all about networking and quiet sponsorship. Some are political. No surprise? I've never found ONE that works coming in "cold" regardless of how well written, and never seen ONE that has failed with proper networking and sponsorship, regardless of how poorly written.This is like submitting a manuscript: you CANNOT get discouraged and you have to keep trying. Sadly, it also has little to do, at first, with the quality of your idea or proposal. My son (an MD/PhD) had a wonderful idea in Pediatrics that would save thousands of lives, which went nowhere, until he got a "big name" co-sponsor on the app. I don't want to sound cynical, but I also don't want you to think you just buy a text, no matter how good, and bam, money rolls in. Most importantly DO NOT get discouraged at a LOT of rejection, DO network, and DO ask those who say no if they know anyone who might be interested!DO use the generous "look inside" feature from Amazon, the authors and publishers to check this out to see if it's right for you before buying. I truly believe that folks who offer look inside are ethical, proud of their work, and want buyers to be happy with their choice, wish more would do it!With this book, with networking, and with persistence and patience, you WILL get it done!
